Joseph J. Gaiolini, 92, of Prospect, passed away peacefully at his home on October 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Joseph was born in West Haven, Connecticut, the son of the late Armando Gaiolini and Stefanie (Squeglia) Gaiolini. He was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was the time he spent with those he loved.
Joseph proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran. He earned his degree from Connecticut School for Electronics and worked for 10 years as an ironworker with New England Iron Works Company. He later worked for Southern New England Telephone Company as a Central Office Technician. Joseph was also a devoted husband and caregiver, caring for his beloved wife, Patricia, for more than 20 years.
Joseph had a wonderful personality and a way of making everyone around him smile. His signature word was “WOW,” always followed by his unmistakable, belly-rolling, contagious laugh. He will be remembered for his warm heart, good humor, and the happiness he brought to so many.
Joe had a lifelong appreciation for classic cars and was an avid follower and attendee of the Prospect Car Show. He loved admiring the beautiful cars and sharing his enthusiasm with fellow car lovers.
Joseph leaves his son, Arman “AJ” Gaiolini of Ansonia; his daughter, Tracy Baxter and her husband, Phillip, of Prospect; his grandchildren, Jason Gaiolini and his wife, Emily, Dalton Baxter, Tristan Baxter, and Jackson Baxter; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Calah Gaiolini. Joseph is predeceased by his sisters, Stephanie Zito, Theresa Giannini, and Mary Giovanelli.
He leaves behind his loving family and many cherished memories that will remain in their hearts forever.
