Gary Francis Corcoran, age 72, of Prospect died peacefully June 13, 2026 while surrounded in the love of his devoted wife Gayle (Sieg) Corcoran and his son Gary Jr.  Gary was born November 13, 1953 in Waterbury, a son of the late Edward Corcoran and Eileen (Miller) Corcoran.

Gary graduated from Kaynor Technical High School after which he immediately joined his family’s business, Corcoran’s Moving and Storage.  He later went on to establish his own company which he retired from due to becoming ill with AML leukemia which he valiantly fought and courageously beat.

Gary was a talented mechanic and could fix just about anything, He enjoyed restoring his Mustangs especially his pride and joy the 1965 Shelby.   When his son Gary Jr. was born, a new generation of car lovers and restoration artists was begun.  Together, father and son spent many happy hours restoring vehicles destined for the scrap yard into machines of beauty and power.

Gary and Gayle were married 46 wonderful years.  Throughout their marriage they supported each other through the loss of their baby daughter, Patricia Corcoran, celebrated all their triumphs and comforted each other during the difficult cancer journeys back to health.  Raising their son Gary Jr brought them immeasurable joy.  Many road trips in the classic car, time resting and enjoying a sweet Florida sunset or just being together as a family leave vibrant and sweet memories to cherish in the days ahead.

Gary was a good friend to many.  He was the first to help repair your car, plow your driveway and was the one you called when you needed an extra hand.  He will be missed by so many.

Besides his loving wife Gayle, Gary leaves his devoted son Gary Jr., his sisters in law Jacqueline Barletta of Milford and Jayne Veneziano of Bristol, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his daughter Patricia, his parents and sisters Carolyn Nelson and Linda Korber.

His family was his greatest joy and comfort.  While Gary is no longer with us in person, his spirit, love and countless memories will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
