Edmund F. Szantyr age 68 of Waterbury, recently of West Haven, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2025 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was the loving widower of Sean (Macomber) Szantyr.

Edmund was born February 9, 1957 in Waterbury, a son of the late Frank and Juliet (Thomas) Szantyr . He was a Crosby High School graduate that lived in Waterbury for most of his life and was currently employed by Plainville Machine & Tool. He truly loved manufacturing and previously worked for Companion Industries and Anstro Manufacturing where developed life long lasting friendships throughout. He cherished the years he spent in North Carolina seeing his grandchildren grow. Unforgettable memories and stories he would always reference. In recent years you could find him at the West Haven beach. He enjoyed every sunny day and could be seen under his grass hut umbrella with binoculars in hand gazing into the harbor. He was personally devoted to his faith in the Kingdom Hall that strongly influenced his life and ensure that we will all be together again in Gods Kingdom.

He leaves one daughter Christine, three sons Matthew, Michael, and Jeffery, four grandchildren Ricky, Cheley, Sarah and Bella, as well as his sisters Dawn, Gail and Paige. He was predeceased by his brothers Thomas and Frankie Szantyr.

Arrangements: A Funeral Talk will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11 am at Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours Saturday morning from 9 am until the funeral talk at 11 am.
