Mr. Henry “Hank” Kalinoski Jr. passed away peacefully while surrounded in the love of his wife Patricia “Pat” (Stanley) Kalinoski on the morning of May 10, 2025. Hank was born to the late Henry V Kalinoski Sr. and Stella (Dobzenski) Kalinoski on November 11, 1950 in Waterbury. Hank grew up in Naugatuck and graduated from Kaynor Tech before beginning his career as a toolmaker. He worked at several area companies through the years, retiring from Haydon Switch in Waterbury to spend his new-found freedom with Pat and their pup Abby.
Although retired from toolmaking, Hank kept using his honed skills and found joy rebuilding and beautifying cars from the 60’s and 70’s. With his meticulous, methodical approach to taking them apart and rebuilding them even better, Hank created show cars that awed judges and spectators. Although his 1969 Camaro – bright yellow with black top – was his pride and joy, he replaced it with his ’71 Malibu. It was not unusual for Hank to be working on his car at 2AM because he thought of something. Hank enjoyed helping people online with their car questions or just talking cars. With Pat co-piloting, Hank enjoyed showing his Camaro at various car shows and won numerous trophies and awards.
Hank leaves behind his beloved wife Pat, their cocker spaniel Abby, his sister Sharon Burgess of Florida, sisters-in-law Marianne Rivera and her husband Juan, Ellen Richard and her partner Mike all of Waterbury, his brother-in-law Mark Stanley of Rocky Hill, and several nieces and nephews. Hank’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Hartford Health Care, especially Bernie, his aide Lola, and his lifelong friend Robert “Bert” Mannion
