Mr. Morgan Edward Kirley, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Glendale Center in Naugatuck. He was the husband of Dorothea “Dodie” (Johnson) Kirley.

Born in Waterbury on May 16, 1938, Morgan was the son of the late Edward F. and Genevieve (Ostrowski) Kirley and was a graduate of Plymouth High School. Morgan worked as an electrician and was a member of CT State Union #488. In his younger years, Morgan taught swimming at the Waterbury Boys Club and volunteered as an assistant coach on many of his children’s sports teams.

Engaging and endearing, everyone knew when Morgan entered the room. With a thunderous, boisterous laugh, he was the life of every party and loved to be around family and friends. He was an avid fan of classic cars and one of his passions was restoring and showing his Chevelle and Gran Torino. He enjoyed camping, fishing and time spent at the Aces High Campground in East Lyme as well as tending to his garden at his home. Morgan was happiest when with his family, and “Kirley Lunches” meant everything to him.

In addition to Dodie, his devoted wife of 31 years, Morgan is survived by his son Edward Kirley and his companion Dena Summa of Wolcott and Mark Kirley and his wife Nicole of Northfield; his daughters Tammy Mancinone and her husband James of Pequabuck, and Erika Mongrain of Wallingford. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Stephen Kirley and his companion Misty Bourgoin, Joshua Kirley, Lora Mancinone, Tommy Mancinone, Peyton Mongrain, and Ethan Kirley as well as several cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Valerie Kirley.
