WATERTOWN – Robert F. Calabrese, 72, of Watertown, died Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Gina (Esposito) Calabrese, who predeceased him in 2017.

Bob was born in Waterbury on May 2, 1950, son of the late Domenic and Louise (Tromba) Calabrese. He graduated from Kaynor Tech in 1968 and then went on to receive a degree from Waterbury State Technical College. Bob worked at Timex until his retirement, followed by several years at Maloney Interdistrict Magnet School.

Bob and Gina were married in 1978, and then went on to raise their three boys in Watertown. In his younger years, Bob was a motorcycle enthusiast, and throughout his entire life loved cars, especially his 1974 Corvette.

He also enjoyed bowling, model trains, and traveling, especially on cruises. An avid sports fan, Bob was a lifelong fan of the Dodgers, the Green Bay Packers, and the LA Lakers.

Above everything else, Bob adored spending time with his family and friends and cherished all of the amazing memories that he had made with them over the years.

Bob leaves behind his three sons, Christopher Calabrese of Colchester, Nicholas Calabrese and his wife Erin, of Plymouth, and Matthew Calabrese of Watertown, Mass.; and a grandson, Vincent B. Calabrese, of Plymouth.

He also leaves behind his companion, Linda Ungerleider of Madison; his brother, Richard Calabrese of Waterbury; his sister, Donna Karas and her husband John, of Waterbury; and his niece and nephew, Jennifer Daddona and her husband Richard, and Jason Karas and his fiancee, Casey Shaw.

A funeral will be on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, 8:45 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to St. John the Evangelist Church in Watertown for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown, where Robert will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Gina. Calling hours will be at the funeral home Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
