Diane M. (Calabrese) Blackwell, 75, of Middlebury, entered into the gates of heaven on April 12, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She was the loving wife of Lee H. Blackwell.
Diane was born in Waterbury on May 8, 1946, daughter of the late Angelo and Lena (DiPalma) Calabrese. Diane grew up in Woodbury and Watertown, was a graduate of Watertown High School and then received her bachelor’s degree from Pratt Institute in NY. For many years, Diane worked at the jewelry department manager for Bradlees’s until her retirement.
Besides her husband Lee of Middlebury, Diane leaves behind to cherish her memory her two children, Carol Watson and her husband Michael of Norwalk, Robert Blackwell of Stamford, and her two sisters, Annette Bozzuto and her husband Michael of Watertown, Pat Stinson and her husband William of Bethlehem, and her brother, Anthony Calabrese and his wife Martha of Watertown. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren, Matthew Watson and his wife Jamie, Christopher Watson and his wife Whitney, Gregory Watson, Joseph Blackwell and his wife Sadie, Jessica Wresilo and her husband Daniel, three great grandchildren, Aiden and Josh Blackwell, and Kameron Wresilo, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Calling hours for Diane will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Elise Cemetery in Middlebury.
