WATERBURY – On Feb. 13, 2021, Kathleen Sullivan Collins (66) passed away peacefully with her devoted daughter, Heather, by her side.

Kathie, born on Oct. 24, 1954, in Waterbury, was the daughter of the late John and Ellen Sullivan. She was a proud graduate of the 1972 class of Catholic High in Waterbury.

She enjoyed working within the community as an advocate and fundraiser for better education. In 2013 she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Bridgeport’s Continuing and Professional Studies Ideal Program as valedictorian.

Kathie was passionate about Irish dancing, celebrating all holidays, and was the queen of giving random gifts to brighten people’s days.

Kathie leaves behind her loving fiance David Packer; and her children Heather and James Flinter of Waterbury, Juliette Collins DeTemple of Gladwyne, Pa., Maureen and Michael Brown of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Caitlyn and Dion Webber of Camp Lejeune, N.C.

She is survived by her sisters, Mary Trautman (Lonnie) and Patricia Tremaglio (John); and brother John Sullivan (Tanya). She leaves behind her grandchildren, CJ Flinter (Myriah), Hannah Flinter, Egypt Martin, Jenna DeTemple, Jon Jay DeTemple III, Anya Webber, Gerald Rockhead III, James Webber and the best looking great-grandson, Carson Flinter. In addition she leaves behind her dear friend Louise Orsillo.

Due to COVID restrictions, the family will be hosting a memorial at a date to be determined.
