OAKVILLE — On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, Lorraine Carol Chapin, 53, of Oakville, loving daughter, niece and cousin, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

Lorraine, affectionately known to her family as La, was born in Waterbury on Oct. 28, 1966, to Joanne (Wisausky) Chapin. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and graduated magna cum laude from the fomer Post College. She worked as an accountant for the City of Waterbury in the finance department and the treasury department. She had also worked as an accountant for James Rinaldi for over 18 years.

Lorraine loved animals and rescued many cats over the years. An avid gardener, she enjoyed renovating and decorating her home. She was known for her infectious laugh, her generosity and compassionate spirit, and her willingness to help anyone.

Besides her mother, Joanne, with whom she made her home in Oakville, she leaves her two aunts, Lorraine Marti of Burlington, Carol Carey of Plainville; her uncles, Lee Wisausky of Oakville, Mark Wisausky and his wife, Barbara, of Thomaston; and her cousins, Kelly, Laura, Kenny, Rosanne, Susan, Kerri and Heidi. She was predeceased by her uncle, Thomas Wisausky, her grandfather, Albert, and her grandmother, Rita.

Arrangements: Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.
