CHESHIRE – Joanne Mucci, 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at the Cheshire Regional Rehab Center in Cheshire. She was the beloved wife of the late Rudolph C. Mucci.

Joanne was born in Waterbury on Jan. 9, 1933; daughter of the late Victor and Helen (Zawisktowski) Hryniewicki. Joanne worked as an executive secretary for the Tilo Roofing Co. and at the Watertown Convalarium.

Joanne loved to read and mastered cross word puzzles. Joanne enjoyed her grandchildren visiting her over the weekends. She would teach them how to play Yahtzee, other board games, and how to make her stuffed sausage and cheese bread for the holidays.

Joanne adored her family and enjoyed her weekly luncheon dates with her granddaughter Lisa.

She is survived by her son, Lawrence Mucci Sr. and his wife Gale Mucci; daughter Lorraine Lanese and her husband James Lanese; sisters Helen Lang, Theresa Lumia and husband Thomas Lumia; and also her brother-in-law Ronald Mucci; grandchildren Lisa Bartlett and her husband Steve, Shawna Fonti and her husband Marc, Melanie Basil and her husband Jeff, Christopher Lanese and L.J. Mucci; great-grandchildren Jenica Bartlett, Hayden Bartlett, Adrianna Fonti, Alexander Basil; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Joanne was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Lamatino.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all the staff of Cheshire Regional Rehab Center of Cheshire for their longterm compassionate care of Joanne, and VITAS Hospice Care of Watertown for their sensitive levels of care.

All services for Joanne are going to be private and at the convenience of the family. She will be buried beside her husband at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
