Frank R. Dana, 85, entered into the gates of heaven on May 8, 2019, at Waterbury Hospital after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Vittoria (Lorenzo) Dana for more than 61 years.

Frank proudly served his country in the Air Force as a firefighter during the Vietnam War. He retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft after 35 years as a machinist. He enjoyed fishing, bowling in various leagues, as well as playing boccie and cards with his fellow members of the Ponte Club of Waterbury.

Frank enjoyed traveling, having been to visit with family in Sicily, beating the odds at Las Vegas casinos and Atlantic City, and spent many happy hours at fairs, parks and festivals. Frank was very proud of his family and treasured time spent with them.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Vittoria, of 61 years; daughters Annamarie and husband Joseph Anyzeski, and Eleanor Dana, of Prospect; a son, Michael Dana and girlfriend Theresa Popowski, of Prospect; grandchildren Michael Anyzeski, Joseph Anyzeski Jr. and girlfriend, Rebecca Alicea; great-granddaughter Jezel Anyzeski; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his brothers, Salvatore, Anthony and Joseph Dana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Burial with military honors will immediately follow in Calvary Cemetery in the Queen Mary Mausoleum, 2324 East Main St., Waterbury. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.
