WESTERVILLE, OHIO – Terrence Patrick Keating, 73, died in a tragic car accident on Jan. 23, 2019.

Terry was born on Dec. 7, 1945, in Waterbury, Conn. He attended SS. Peter and Paul Grade School. While attending Sacred Heart High School (class of 1963), he enjoyed being a member of the baseball team.

After high school Terry became a Flyer at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. Though living in the Midwest since college, he often managed to make the trip back to the Northeast to visit family and friends.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ruth; sisters Kathy Keating, Fran (Michael) Palmer; sister-in-law, Carol; children Patrick (Julie), Kim (Mark) Smith, Karl (Heather), Karen (Eric) Rachuba and Tim (Jenni); 12 grandchildren; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Keating; parents, Walter and Rita Keating; father-in-law, James Elliott; and brothers-in-law, Mike Elliott and Mark Rumble.

Terry worked at Lucent for 46 years. He was passionately restoring his 1960 Corvette. Aside from tickling his grandchildren, his other hobbies included working frustratingly on his golf game and being the University of Dayton basketball team’s No. 1 fan.

You could find him every Saturday washing the cars or mowing the lawn in shorts (regardless of the weather). And on Sundays he would be sharing a burger with Ruth at Time and Change.

He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Family received friends at St. Paul Catholic Church in Westerville, Ohio on Monday, Jan. 28, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis, Ind., on Jan. 31.
