Philip Simmons, age 67 of Ansonia, beloved husband of Patricia (Bogoslawski), died peacefully on March 23, 2018 at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford.

Born in Derby on October 26, 1950, he is a son of the late Lloyd and Florence (Oszkowski) Simmons. Philip was a US Army Veteran and served his country honorably. A member of St. Augustine Church in Seymour and a member of the Masons, St. John’s Lodge, No. 8 of Stratford. He worked for the last 17 years as a facility manager at C. Cowles and Company in North Haven. Phil was a huge fan of racing and his passion was as a crew chief for many teams over the years while belonging to the SNYRA.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia; beautiful daughters, Laura-Ann Simmons and Bill Wiltsie of Shelton, Michele Gustafson and Rich of Orange, Melissa Simmons-Wojnagi and Denis of Oxford. His siblings, Penny Kraemer and husband Fred, Susan and Dave Eagan, Dorry McCann, Patty Yustin, Jeffrey and Sue Simmons, Dale Hillman, and sister-in-law, Maryann Simmons. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Michael, Victoria, Mathew and Erik as well as numerous nieces, nephews and his fury girl, Charlotte. Phil was predeceased by a brother, Dennis and a furry best friend Samantha.

Calling hours will be held on Monday March 26, from 4-7 p.m., at Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
