SOUTHINGTON – Mrs. Viola Victoria (Fusco) Falcone, 89, of 58 Mulberry St., formerly of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Mulberry Gardens, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Lt. Eugene Falcone of the Waterbury Police Department.

Viola was born in Waterbury on April 30, 1927, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Maria (Mancini) Fusco. In her retirement, she loved bowling, cooking for her family, her friends and trips to the casino, and playing bingo.

Viola leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Michael Falcone and his wife, Karen, of Wolcott, Eugene “Chip” Falcone and his wife, Jamie, of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Jean Marie Stream and her husband, Steven, of Rossville, Ill., Cindy Scannapieco and her husband, Dr. Frank Scannapieco, of Clarence, N.Y., and Barbara Mautte and her husband, Marc, of Ashland, Va.; a sister, Mary Ann Bernaitis and her husband, Butch, of Waterbury; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two sisters and four brothers. Viola also leaves behind many loving friends and relatives, as well as many Mulberry Gardens residents who will miss her dearly.

Viola’s family would also like to say thank you to the staff at Mulberry Gardens, the entire staff at VITAS Hospice and Dr. Edmund Caparaso for their wonderful love and care in her final years.

Arrangements: Funeral will be held 8 a.m. Saturday from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
