CHESHIRE — Mr. Donald A. Drost Jr., 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. He was the devoted husband of Anne (Dodge) Drost.

Mr. Drost was born on Aug. 30, 1950, in Waterbury, son of the late Donald A. and Verna (Blanchette) Drost Sr. He was a graduate of Crosby High School, class of 1969. He was an auto body painter at Paint Specialty & Auto Body for more than 40 years and O&G Industries until his retirement.

Don was a car enthusiast and took great pride in restoring antique cars, including his own that won many awards over the years. Don was a fun loving man who enjoyed traveling with his wife, Anne, who was also his high school sweetheart. Don was dedicated to his family and had many longtime close friends. He was caring and helpful to anyone in need.

In addition to Anne, his wife of 41 years, Don leaves behind his brothers, James Drost and his wife, Janice, of Middlebury, and Keith Drost and his wife, Cindy, of Cheshire; his sister, Lisa Cipriano and her husband, Fran, of Troutman, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury, to Blessed Sacrament Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
