WATERTOWN — Peter C. Buonomo Sr., age 77 of Watertown, passed away May 14, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Palmer) Buonomo.

Pete was born Dec. 13, 1937 in Waterbury, a son of the late John and Sandine (Franceskino) Buonomo Sr. and lived in Watertown for the past 46 years. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School.

Prior to his retirement, Pete worked at John and Bob’s Auto Parts in East Hampton. He was currently working at PPG Paints in Waterbury.

Pete loved cars and spent his working career in the automobile industry. He loved his 25th anniversary Corvette, his truck, fishing and hanging out with his friends and family.

Peter proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a member of the American Legion Post 195 in Watertown.

Besides his wife of 55 years of Watertown, he leaves a son, Peter C. Buonomo Jr. of Bristol; three daughters, Marcia Cloutier and her husband Gerald of Manchester, N.H., Brenda Smith and her husband Jonathan of Oakville, Nancy Mancini and her husband Mark of Watertown; two brothers, Dominic Buonomo Sr. and his wife Winifred of Waterbury, John Buonomo Jr. of Tennessee; four sisters, Janice DiBeneditto and her husband Dominic of Waterbury, Sophie DeLeon of Milford, Constance Taylor of Nashville, Tenn., Pauline Corbett and her husband James of Naugatuck; nine grandchildren, Jimmy, Johnny, Amy, David, William, Carolyn, Matthew, Mark and Nicholas; six great-grandchildren, Bailey, Riley, Emily, Lauren, Gavin and Kirsten; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Peter will be held on Tuesday at 12 p.m. at the O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St., Oakville. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may visit with Pete’s family on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the service at noon at the funeral home.
