CHESHIRE — Mr. Richard Charles Capobianco, 68, of Cheshire, passed away peacefully at VITAS Innovative Hospice Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, in the presence of his loving family. He was the loving husband of Annalee (Hedman) Capobianco.

Richard was born in Waterbury on Nov. 14, 1946, son of the late Rocco J. and Mary (Machnich) Capobianco. He graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary and High schools and earned a master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University. He served in the Army National Guard. He worked for UPS for 16 years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 29 years in 2013. He was an avid dog lover and was involved in caring for abandoned pit bulls. He was an antique car enthusiast and collector.

Besides his wife, Annalee, Richard leaves two brothers, Pasquale “Pat” Capobianco and his wife Jacqueline (Blake) and Robert Capo and his wife Ann Marie (Telesco), all of Southington; three nephews, Michael Capobianco, David Capobianco and Gray Capo; two nieces, Traci Mascaro and Sarah Wendl; several cousins, including Joyce D’Alessio and her husband Daniel of Waterbury; and a large extended family.

The family would like to thank the staff of Saint Mary’s Hospital and the VITAS Innovative Hospice Unit for the care and compassion shown to Richard and his family during his illness.

Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Road, Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
