Michael H. Cady, aged 56 of Newtown, passed away Monday, July 21. He was the husband of Madeline Weckerie Cady.

Mr. Cady was born on July 3, 1952 in Waterbury. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1970 and Waterbury State Technical College in 1972.

He was a member of the Connecticut Street Rod Association and also served as past president and current secretary. He was also the crew chief for the No. 608 Lakester car of the Dauernheim Biglow racing team and a member of the support crew of the E/STR No. 1986, owned by the Dripps Bibby Racing Team at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. He was also a member of the Connecticut State Vehicle Safety Inspection Team for the National Street Rod Association. His vehicles include a 1936 Ford Tudor Custom Rod, a long term project 1928 Model A Tudor Sedan, and a 1980 Volvo Bertone Coupe.

In addition to his wife, he is survivied by his son, Michael Jr, three brothers, a sister, nephews, a niece, and a grand nephew. He is predecased by his first wife, Susan Beers Cady, and their son, Scott Andrew Cady.

A funeral service will be held 11 am, Thursday July 24, at The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North. Burial is private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 23 from 6 to 9 pm.
