Ronald Stanco – 1945 – 2019 – brother of Ken Stanco

WATERBURY – Mr. Ronald A. Stanco passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Saint Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Lana (LaPlante) Stanco.

Mr. Stanco was born on Nov. 15, 1945, son of the late Angelo and Elizabeth “Betty” (Orlando) Stanco. Ron was a graduate of Kaynor Technical High School and held an associate degree from Mattatuck Community College. He worked as a quality control engineer, first for Bristol Co., and retired from Engineered Sinteerings and Plastics Inc., where he worked for more than 25 years.

A devoted family man, Ron adored his children and grandchildren. He also loved his time spent visiting and having coffee with family and friends at Kenecticut Hardware.

In addition to Lana, his wife of 51 years, Ron leaves to cherish his memory his son, Jeffrey Stanco and his wife Amy, of Wolcott; his daughter, Angela Quinn and her husband Anthony, of Wolcott; and his beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Corey, Kevin, Kelly, Kayla, Brianna, Hailey and Isabella.

He is also survived by his four brothers, James Stanco and his wife Linda, of Waterbury, Kenneth Stanco and his wife Laurie, of Waterbury, Richard Stanco and his wife Patricia, of Wolcott, and Ted Stanco and his wife Joan, of Oakville; also, his two sisters, Jean Stanco and Jane Stanco, both of Waterbury; and several generations of nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families, to whom he was very close.

Ron was predeceased by his brother, Tom Stanco.

Ron’s family would like to thank Dr. Raissi, Dr. Flanagan, as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff of the third, fifth, and seventh floors at Saint Mary’s Hospital for their outstanding and compassionate care shown to Ron while under their care.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m., with a service beginning at 6:30 p.m., at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
